Chettle House, Blandford Forum Wedding Venue
June 18th, 2009.Scott (my partner & photography assistant) and I visited Chettle House Garden & House open day a couple of weeks ago. We had never been to the House before and were very impressed with the Gardens and the House itself was very quirky indeed! It would make a stunning location for a wedding venue and we look forward to photographing a wedding there! Do Get in Touch if you are planning your wedding at Chettle House as we would love to hear from you!
This stunning Queen Anne house was commissioned by the Chafin family and designed by Thomas Archer in 1710 to replace their Elizabethan manor house. It’s characterful architecture and stunning gardens makes it a unique wedding venue and popular film location.
Peter and Fiona Bourke are the current owners of the property, which has been a much loved family home for over 150 years! Since inheriting the property in 2002, they have devoted their lives to its restoration and upkeep. They take enormous pleasure in sharing it with others.
Here are a few photo’s we shot whilst visiting Chettle House and Gardens, before enjoying a cup of tea and homemade cake in the Tearooms!
As you can see the gardens are full of English country roses and the house is decked with decorative furnishings.
Chettle House is situated just off the A354 between Blandford and Salisbury. It is within easy reach of the major conurbations of Bournemouth, Poole and Christchurch and is just 30 minutes from Bournemouth Airport.

What an amazing venue – I can just see the bride being photographed whilst lazing on the chaise longue – lovely!
My thoughts exactly! Hopefully we will get the chance to do just that…Hope you have a good weekend : )
