Somerset Wedding at Huntstile Organic Farm
July 4th, 2009.Perfect Country Wedding Venue in Somerset
We met with Anna and James and their Best Man in Somerset last weekend to walk round their wedding venue. First we went to Saint Mary’s Church , Hutton Village, Weston-Super-Mare. A very friendly church, which was light and very pretty.
From here we made our way to Huntstile Organic Farm, a working farm in Goatshurst near Bridgewater, set in the rolling foothills of the Quantocks with wonderful views of Somerset Countryside. It is situated near Glastonbury, Taunton, Weston-Super-Mare, Bristol and Exmoor so is convenient and surprisingly easy to find!
We were very excited to see the venue and it was even better than we had imagined. The farmhouse itself is beautiful with red brickwork and the gardens were full of roses and chickens wandering around. There was even a traditional Gypsy Caravan on the front drive! So we are spoilt for choice when it comes to finding good spots to take photographs.
The gardens, where the marquee will be located backs straight onto barley fields, so you literally feel like to are sitting in deep Somerset farmland! Which is ideal if you are planning a Summer Wedding. As we took a look inside we were equally impressed with the character filled rooms of the farmhouse, with beautiful wooden floors, open fireplaces and wooden beams. It was very quirky and relaxed!
“We offer a relaxed and friendly atmosphere with robust menus of excellent, locally produced food, comfortable facilities and country house accommodation for wedding & party celebrations. We have excellent feedback from our guests and are very proud that all our staff provide a happy and warm welcome to all. For a wedding that doesn’t cost the earth!”
Owner, Lizzie Myers
WEDDING VENUE:
Huntstile can accommodate a party of up to 65 in the farmhouse dining rooms & up to 200 in garden marquees. 6 double & twin bedrooms and camping facilities. Very relaxed, peaceful & beautiful surroundings with cherry blossom & roses in the summer, crackling log fires in the winter.
RELAXED COUNTRY WEDDINGS
Huntstile Farm know the meaning of a relaxed and friendly atmosphere – it’s how they live. In the summer months you can hold your wedding reception here in the farmhouse & garden marquee for up to 135 guests. They have straw bales, tables & benches available for seating and dining outside too. During autumn and wintertime you may hold your reception in the dining hall with crackling log fires, seating up to 50 guests.
RUSTIC WEDDINGS
Huntstile Farm can deliver you to church in their lovely wedding tractor, with trailer with straw bales & then entertain you afterwards with a Barn Dance in the evening or a Ho-Down – or offer a Medieval Banquet with jugglers, stilt walkers & fire eaters or maybe an Irish Theme! Whatever your requirements Huntstile can help!
HAND-FASTINGS
In 2005 the owners built a Stone Circle for Fran & Rachel’s Druid hand-fasting ceremony. Built from ancient staddle stones, the Circle lies on the edge of a wood upon a hilltop with breathtaking views across the county. They even have a Druid priestess on hand to perform the ceremony if required. Lisa Dawn Photography would love to hear from anyone organising a Pagan Wedding Ceremony or a Wedding Blessing, so if you are planning a different wedding do Get In Touch!

What a beautiful, intimate venue!
