Sturminster Newton, Tithe Barn Country Wedding!
July 28th, 2009.I first met with Clare in The Crown Hotel, Blandford Forum months ago, to discuss her and David’s wedding plans. I was delighted to find out they were planning a traditional country wedding in Hinton St.Mary, Sturminster Newton, a beautiful village located in between Shaftesbury, Blandford Forum and Sherborne.
We met with both Clare and David at their wedding venue a month before their big day at The Manor House, Sturminster Newton, where they showed us the Tithe Barn in which their wedding reception was to take place. It was an impressive room with high ceilings and had a medieval feel about it, with antlers, swords and paintings hanging from the stone walls. The perfect setting for country wedding reception!
We had not heard of The Country Manor Tithe Barn before and David told us that he actually worked as a farmer on the land of the Manor House, which granted them the use of their Tithe Barn and also let us take a Group photo and couple shoot in their breathtaking formal gardens. It is the villagers of Hinton St.Mary’s best kept secret, so it was a very special venue and a privilege to photograph at this unique location.
On Clare and David’s special day we arrived at the St.Andrews church, Okeford Fitzpaine, which sits on top of a hill and looks down on the village. From here we had a good viewpoint to capture the guests arriving and keep a look out for the Groom.
As soon as we caught a glimpse we took some relaxed shots of the Groom, Best Man and Ushers making their way through the Church yard. Next the Bridesmaids arrived, dressed in pale green dresses; Clare’s sister Ellie (Chief Bridesmaid) had made both Clare’s wedding dress and the bridesmaid’s dresses, which all looked stunning!
Clare arrived with her mother in a charming cream Ryecroft Tourer, provided by All Aspects Wedding Services, she looked beautiful!
We took our last shots moments before making our way into St.Mary’s church.
The service was heartfelt and personal and the quaint village church setting made it even more special!
The sun shone brightly as the newly weds and their guests left the church, celebrations were made and confetti thrown before everybody leisurely made their way to The Manor House, Tithe Barn.
Clare and David made their entrance in their gorgeous wedding car. We made the most of this, as it is not often you get the chance to sit is such a fabulous car!
Everybody headed out to the steps on the garden lawn, where we planned to take a group shot of all the guests, before taking a leisurely stroll around the grounds.
The roses and lavender were out in full bloom, as we wondered around the gardens with newly weds, Mr & Mrs Stevens! It was the perfect spot to capture some elegant and romantic shots of the couple in the grand English Country Gardens.
We left the happy couple to enjoy their Reception with everybody tucking into what looked like a feast.
Later there was to be country dancing and I am sure everybody had a good time, dancing the night away!
Photographs with thanks and congratulations to Clare & David, Mr & Mrs Stevens!
