Vintage Wedding Fashion Photography Collection at the V&A

I love looking through old photos and what better way to gain some wedding inspiration then to delve into history and take a look at Wedding fashion and trends throughout the ages.

Vintage themed weddings are increasingly popular, especially in the U.S and U.K as many people chose to have a themed wedding to jazz things up a little and add a more personal touch to their wedding!

In advance of an exhibition of Wedding Dresses in 2013, the V&A are building a collection of photographs of wedding fashion from all cultures between 1840 and the present. They are hoping to build a rich record which may be able to help you date any old family wedding photographs from Albums you have sitting in your attic at home!

To ensure we build a useful historical record all entries the V&A ask you to upload up to three photographs showing the fashions at any one wedding and the principal image should focus on the detail of the wedding dress, with the following to be included if possible:

1) The year of the event

2) The names of the bride and groom/partners

3)The place

4)The religion of the wedding
