Harbour Heights Hotel, Sandbanks – A wedding with a view of Poole Harbour!

September 11th, 2009.

I first met with Amy and Guy at Harbour Heights Hotel to talk through the final preparations of their wedding. It is the first time we had shot a wedding at Harbour Heights Hotel, so we were looking forward to it. I have to tell you that the views over looking Poole Harbour are breathtaking and this was one of the reason that Amy and Guy chose the venue to hold their special day!

The Harbour Heights Hotel is stylish and modern; the perfect venue for a Contemporary, Chic wedding. The views from the terrace stretch from Poole Bay and Brownsea Island to the rolling hills of the Purbecks far in the distance. With such a continental feel at Sandbanks, it is hard to remember you are still in England! Poole Harbour and Sandbanks beach provide a stunning backdrop for a picture perfect ceremony!

On the big day we arrived in good time to take some shots of the location and to capture the guests arriving, Guy, his mother and brother (Best Man), who had made the journey from Spain to be there.

Amy had also asked us to take some Getting Ready Shots so we made the most of this time taking shots of Amy and her family before we headed down ready for the ceremony!

Amy was very nervous before the ceremony, but her nerves settled as soon as she saw her husband to be. The ceremony was peaceful and moving. Amy and Guy made their vows in the ceremony room, with sea views. As they made their way back down the red carpet and out to the gardens they were now husband and wife!

Although the morning had started out a little gloomy, by the time they were wed the sun came out on full show and it got surprisingly hot. I heard rumours that it was the best day of Summer so far, and I can certainly believe that! The guests congratulated the couple and pink champagne was flowing! We then snuck off with Amy, Guy her Sister Jenny and her fiance, Ali kindly drove us all to Sanbanks for a Couple Shoot on the beach!

The sun was beating down, skies were blue and there was a cool breeze in the air as we walked along the shore.

We captured some really beautiful shots of Amy and Guy spending a little time together.

Our ‘Just Married’ shot with the words written in the sand has become rather a trademark for us and we often get requests to re-create it, which we are more than happy to do!

This is always the best part of the day for us as we get to be creative and take time capturing some natural and romantic shots of the couple as they spend some quality time alone before heading back to the Reception.

We left Amy and Guy to enjoy their wedding breakfast with friends and family.
