Huntstile Organic Farm Wedding, Somerset-Amongst the fields…
September 22nd, 2009.We had been looking forward to Anna & James’ wedding ever since we first met with them in Glastonbury and they told us a little about their plans. We were thrilled when they had chosen us to photograph their big day!
We then met them a month before the wedding day to see the church where they were to tie the knot. We made our way through the picturesque Somerset landscape to Saint Mary’s Church , Hutton Village, Weston-Super-Mare. A very friendly church, which was light and pretty.
We then followed Anna, James and their Best Man, Richard to Goathurst near Bridgwater. Huntstile Farm is set in the rolling foothills of the Quantocks with wonderful views of Somerset Countryside. It is situated near Glastonbury, Taunton, Weston-Super-Mare, Bristol and Exmoor so is convenient and surprisingly easy to find! As we wondered round we spotted many opportunities for photographs as the garden and house itself way full of character and charm!
August the 29th soon came around, the day was warm and sunny from the start. We were all a little worried about the weather and hoping we would not have to stay inside. Luck was on our side and the sun stayed out all day, it was one of the best days of summer! We always take a set of white umbrella’s to every wedding come rain or shine, they seem to be rather good luck for us.
We arrived to capture the guests arriving as they made their way inside the church ready for the ceremony. The Bridesmaids and Anna arrived in a stunning white and maroon 1927 Packard, from Vintage Wheels. Anna looked stunning in her beaded vintage style wedding dress, which sparkled in the sun!
The ceremony was beautiful full of hymns that the couple had chosen, which was sung by their guests and the church choir. Bells sounded as Anna and James now husband and wide walked back down the aisle to meet their friends and family. Confetti was thrown as the newly weds made their way down the church path and to their wedding car, which was waiting to take them to Huntstile Farm.
As the guests made their way down the narrow country lane to arrive for a drinks reception in the garden. It was a very relaxed atmosphere, with hens wondering round the lawn and soulful guitar music playing in the background.
We took some Group shots and then headed to the fields with Anna and James to take some more Romantic Shots.
The Farm itself has many little quirky features, such as bunting and candles hanging from the trees, a traditional gypsy caravan on the front drive, and inside old wooden floors, instruments and dried flowers decorate the farm house!
Anna and James had placed jars full of sweets around the house, where there was later to be a live band and Disco, Bacon baps in the evening and hot drinks and plenty of sofas in the snug room! Sounded perfect.
The marquee was filled with balloons and the Hog Roast was ready to serve, we left Anna and James to enjoy the rest of their day!
Photographs with Thanks & Congratulations to Mr & Mrs Drinkwater!
