Autumn Colours-Wedding at The Eastbury Hotel, Sherborne
November 2nd, 2009.I met Jenny and Alister at Eastbury Hotel in Sherborne to discuss their wedding plans. They are a lovely couple we were really looking forward to the day.
It was great to photograph a second wedding for the Barbet family, as we had photographed Jenny’s sister’s wedding a couple of months ago. It was also really good to recognise so many of their friends and family!
It was a chilly morning and the winter sunlight was out, the trees were turning shades of yellow and red. We arrived at St Mary’s church, a large church in the quaint town of Sturminster Newton bright and early, where moments later we were met by Alister, his Best Man and Ushers.
Their guests soon followed. The church was decked with orange and red flowers and final preparations were being made.
The Bridesmaids then arrived, along with the Mother of the Bride.
Jenny soon followed with her father, John in a stunning vintage wedding car, her Maggie Sottero dress and flowers were gorgeous!
I loved the ruffles, diamanté details of Jenny’s wedding dress, which was a hint of champagne/grey in colour.
As Jenny and her Bridesmaids walked into the church, Jenny and Alister’s ceremony began.
The ceremony was beautiful and full of emotion.
As the newly wed’s left the building church bells sounded and congratulations began.
We took a group shot of everybody before making our way to Sherborne for their Reception at The Eastbury Hotel.
It was the first time we had photographed a wedding at The Eastbury Hotel and as soon as we saw the Hotel months before the ceremony we were impressed. The Eastbury Hotel has a lovely atmosphere and is decorated in a boutique style. With a large garden and small wooded area we were looking forward to making the most of the setting for Jenny and Allistair’s couple shoot.
As the guests mingled on the terrace amongst the garden we snuck off with the newly weds to take some romantic shots in the gardens.
Guests then made their way to the Reception room, a lovely conservatory backing onto the gardens. After the wedding breakfast came the speeches. The speeches began with Mother of the Bride, June who made a beautiful speech to the newly weds and her daughter. Alister’s Best man and brother was up next he had everyone smiling with tales from Alister’s childhood. Alister then finished off with a heart warming speech to his new wife and I have to say made everyone (including himself) laugh and cry! It was a lovely moment to finish our time photographing their special day!
We left the wedding party to do just that-Party!
Photographs with congratulations and thanks to Mr & Mrs Woods!
