Magical Wedding at The Langtry Manor Hotel, Bournemouth

November 18th, 2009.

I first met with Tanya and Chris Last year at The Kings Head in Wimborne to discuss their wedding plans. They were planning a relaxed and fairly informal wedding at The Langtry Manor in Bournemouth. A month before their big day we met at their venue to take have a look round and plan their photography. The Langtry Manor is beautifully decorated and has a unique history.

The Manor was built in 1877 by Edward VII for his mistress Lillie Langtry. In the early 1980′s the Lodge also became part of the Hotel. The hotel underwent over half a million pounds on refurbishment, which was carried out by top designers in London. The Hotel has maintained the historic ambience of the hotel and rooms whilst simultaneously introducing a contemporary feel. As you walk into the Hotel it is almost as if you have entered a time gone by.

Tanya and Chris’ big day soon arrived, we arrived bright and early and were soon followed by Chris and his Best Man and brother Matt. The guests made their way into the Hotel while awaiting the arrival of the bride.

Tanya arrived in a vintage wedding car we took a few family shots before making our way to the ceremony room (which is stunning!)

The ceremony was very personal and relaxed. Tanya warned me she gets very nervous but I knew as soon as she saw Chris she would be fine! Luckily she took the joke about the wedding rings not being in their boxes very well! Chris’ daughter Shannon read a poem to Tanya and Chris during the ceremony, which was a lovely touch!

As soon as the ceremony was over guests made their way into the gardens for celebration drinks and confetti. The speeches were then made and presents given to loved ones.

While guests made their way to the bar I went off with Tanya and Chris into the gardens to take some more romantic shots of the newly weds.

The children’s disco and entertainment soon kicked off, while the adults were entertained and left speechless by the magician.
