Intimate country wedding at The Langton Arms, Blandford Forum

February 3rd, 2010.

I met with Sheila and Donald (Jill & Don) at The Crown Hotel in Blandford Forum on a cold winters day. We sat by the roaring fire to discuss their wedding at The Langton Arms, Tarrant Monkton.

Although Jill and Don live in Salisbury, The Langton Arms is a place the couple come for a pub lunch and an evening meal. They love the relaxed country atmosphere and surroundings and so know they wanted to marry there.

The wedding was to be relaxed with close friends and family, there was a party of 12, which gave the wedding an intimate feel, which made for a lovely atmosphere! We arrived at The Langton Arms in time to capture some relaxed shots of the Groom and Best Man at the bar, as well as guests chatting before the ceremony began.

We then knocked on hotel room number 4, where Jill and her daughter had been getting ready. Jill was having the final preparations made to her hair before they were ready to go!

The Langton Arms has a courtyard, which the Bride walks down on her way to the ceremony room, so it is always a good spot to capture some emotional shots.

The ceremony was emotional, full of tears and laughter. Sheila and Donald exchanged their vows, rings and a kiss and were wed.

They signed the register, making it official and then chose to mingle with their guests following the ceremony.

This made for a nice change as close ones were able to congratulate the newly weds in the warmth of the ceremony room. Drinks were passed around before we made our way onto the courtyard to take some group shots.

Everyone then made their way inside, where they had a table made up for all the guests to sit around. People chose to order their meals from the menu (which we might add is delicious!) and looked forward to their meal.
