Victoria & Thomas are getting married at Stanwell House Hotel in Lymington this May.  We met up with them in The New Forest, Hampshire to catch up on their wedding plans and take a wonder through the woodland.

This part of the forest has some of the largest trees.  The light was perfect this late spring afternoon  and it was very still in the forest.  We saw deer in the local park and ponies wondering amongst the trees.  

We are looking forward to Victoria & Thomas' wedding, which is only weeks away!

Here is a preview from Sarah & Adrian's fifties styled wedding at the Larmer Tree Gardens on April 21st.  Sarah & Adrian found the Larmer Tree Gardens via our Blog and as soon as they visited the gardens they fell in love with the venue.  Sarah & Adrian had put a lot of hard work into their day and at it really paid off. The day included a Bake Off, where their guests entered a cake for the couple's cake table.  Sarah & Adrian judged the competition and prices were given in the evening!

We met with Kate & Jonathan at The King John Inn, Tollard Royal to find out more about their wedding plans for their upcoming wedding at The Larmer Tree Gardens.  The couple discovered the venue from The Larmer Tree Festival, which is held at the gardens every Summer.

Kate & Jonathan were really good company and we had a lot of fun in the nearby yellow rape seed fields and exploring The Larmer Tree Gardens.  Kate and I got a little carried away hunting for Tiny Doors, an art installation to commemorate the Larmer Tree Festival’s 21st year.  Artists Simon Sinkinson’s ode to the influential people in Larmer Tree’s history: the ‘Larmer Luminaries’. Unfortunately we didn't have any luck. I think a plan has hatched to see if the couple's wedding guests can find them....so the hunt continues!  We did however discover two beautiful Macaw Parrots, who seemed to be talking to the resident peacocks!

We are very much looking forward to seeing Kate & Jonathan again in June.

Kelly & Matt had the first outdoor wedding of the year at Pennsylvania Castle since the venue has re-opened.  The Penn, as the locals call it is set on the cliff tops of the Isle of Portland, with expansive views of the sea.  A wonderful setting for Kelly & Matt's relaxed outdoor ceremony set within the castle gardens. 

We captured the setting as Kelly and her Bridesmaids were getting ready inside.  Guests made their way into the gardens, taking in the views and exploring the grounds as we all awaited a first glimpse of the Bridesmaids and Kelly, who made their entrance through the gardens.  You could hear Kelly giggling before she appeared!

The grey clouds cleared as the couple said their vows to one another. I loved the expressions on Kelly's face throughout the ceremony, both her and Matt were extremely excited!  Kelly & Matt had their reception in a marquee, which was set up in their friends back garden. I love garden weddings as they are so intimate and relaxed. The marquee was decorated with pink roses in glass domes & bird cages, buttons were sprinkled on the tables and seeds were placed for guests to take home.  I especially liked the Cheese Cake, complete with pickles & chutney as a savory alternative to your usual wedding cake. We left the couple to enjoy the band in the evening and party into the small hours.

We met with Catherine & James for their engagement shoot in Richmond Surrey, just a stone's throw away from the couple's house.  We had originally planned to go to Marble Hill Park, which is where James proposed to Catherine; a beautiful park by the river, with no less than four stately homes.  But with heavy showers due on the day of the shoot Catherine suggested a change of plan, to meet at Petersham Nurseries a favourite spot of Catherine & James.  

With grey skies overhead and the odd roll of thunder I think we made the right decision; we could dash for cover in the greenhouses, each decorated with beautiful rustic gifts and interiors. With hand crafted homeware, plants & antiques beautifully displayed, it made for a unique setting. We met in the Tea House, where they sell a delicious range of cakes, seasonal and fresh produce, to catch up on Catherine & James' wedding plans before taking a wander around the nurseries.

We are looking forward to Catherine & James' wedding at the Larmer Tree Gardens later this Summer.

Kelly & Matt had a beautiful outdoor ceremony at Pennsylvania Castle in Portland near Weymouth.  This was the first wedding of the year for the recently opened venue.  It was a real honour to photograph Kelly & Matt's ceremony.  Here is a preview of Kelly & Matt's wedding photographs, more will follow very shortly so watch this space!

From the moment Fran & Chris enquired about their wedding we loved the sound of their plans.  The enquiry read 'a theatrical wedding, anything but boring!' 

You may remember Fran & Chris from their engagement session, which we shot at the Theatre Royal, Winchester.  We had access to the stage during Pantomime season, so had a number of Cinderella backdrops to work with.  It was a lot of fun!

Fran & Chris got married at The Victorian Barn, a relatively new venue in the village of Woolland just outside Blandford.  Their day was full of personal touches and rather then asking for presents, Fran & Chris asked that all their friends & family contribute in one way or another to their wedding. Fran works as a stage manager and so many of her friends are performers and so the idea of a Cabaret was born. There were songs, poetry, story telling and Fran & Chris took part in their own "Mr & Mrs" game show.

Chris is a laser physicist, hence the table names were famous scientists. Chris' gamer friends, who are keen Warhammer players also made cake topper models of the bride and groom.

The cabaret opened with Fran singing At Last by the late Etta James, which was dedicated to her husband and was a really lovely moment. Chris followed with a stand up comedy act.

Fran is a master of Scrabble and their cupcakes were decorated with scrabble pieces laid out on scrabble boards.  The couple even made their own version of Guess Who?, Guest Who? with pictures of all their guests. Fran & Chris also had lots of fun on the dance floor with a flash mob choreograged first dance with their bridesmaids and ushers.

We introduced our photo booth for the evening, which was a big hit, drama students are very creative!  This  wedding had it's own Twitter hashtag #takeavow so everyone could keep up to date with the latest wedding news and antics on the day!
