Beach Engagement Shoot Sandbanks, Poole Jenny & Sam

We had a great time photographing Jenny & Sam on Sandbanks beach in Poole. This is a favourite spot for them and where Sam proposed to Jenny. We are much looking forward to photographing their relaxed country wedding in June, their reception is taking place at The Langton Arms in the picturesque village of Tarrant Monkton.

RNLI College wedding Helen & James' Nautical Wedding Poole

Part II of Helen & James' nautical wedding took place at the RNLI College in Poole, which is a spectacular building.  Following the couples ceremony in Part I we followed Helen & James in their wedding Beetle down to the sea to take some shots on the beach.

We then headed to the RNLI College which is by the water's edge.  The couple had organised a boat for guests to take trips on during the evening, which we hopped on.

The college is a perfect setting on a summers evening and the sunset over the water was beautiful that night!

RNLI College wedding photographer Helen & James' nautical wedding Westbourne

Helen & James got married on the 2nd July on what was one of the sunniest days we have had (so far) this Summer.

James is in the Navy and the couple both love the sea so their wedding had a nautical theme.  Following the wedding ceremony at Christ Church in Westbourne we headed to the beach with the couple before joining their guests at the RNLI College in Poole Part II where we took to the water!

Elise & Alistair's Japanese Garden Wedding Compton Acres, Poole

I have been looking forward to posting these photographs for a long time! Elise & Alistair had their wedding just 10 days before our own on the 3rd June 2010. We were all hoping for good weather as Elise and Alistair had booked their ceremony in the outdoor thatched summer house in the stunning Japanese Gardens at Compton Acres.

It was the first wedding of it's kind-Elise & Alistair were first on the list to be wed in the gardens and when the Thatched Summer house got a license they were thrilled. Their guests arrived at the Italian Villa, a gorgeous building with equally breathtaking formal gardens and awaited the arrival of Elise and Alistair who turned up together, along with their Bridesmaid.

Elise & Alistair love all things Japanese and they styled elements of their wedding with the orient in mind. I loved the choice of colours, black, white and the lime green and red really popped out. Elise didn't want too many flowers as for her no flowers could beat those that they would be surrounded by as they said their vows. The Acers and Aezelias were out in full bloom and the bright colours were such a great setting for this tranquil wedding, which over looked the gardens and ponds.

Bride and Groom, Elise and Alistair led their way through the Italian Gardens and into the Japanese Gardens with friends and family close behind. The thatched summer house was cool and the ceremony began.

Once the ceremony was complete we made the most of the backdrop for the group shots. We then had a wonder around the tiny paths which lead you around the gardens in amongst the flowers and over stepping stones across the ponds (watching our step!) with the newly weds. We had a lot of fun.....

The drinks reception took place in the Italian Gardens before we all made our way to The Haven Hotel, another great venue and this time we had the beach on our doorstep so naturally we all kicked our shoes off for some more photos before guests waited for the wedding breakfast to be served in the Brownsea Suite.

The flowers and cake were decorated with an Asian theme and again the colours really stood out against the black & white. The table was set outewith all the guests seated around to make for a cosy feel. We left the party to enjoy their meal. Elise and Alistair stayed at the Clavell Tower in Kimmeridge for their wedding night and were sure to take cake with them. I am sure they had a great time.

Photographs with thanks and congratulations to Mr & Mrs Macrae

Helen & Paul's Seaside Wedding Poole Guildhall & Hotel Du Vin A Nautical Wedding!

Helen and Paul love the sea and their wedding day included a drink reception with guests aboard 'The Purbeck Princes' following their Ceremony at Poole Guildhall Registry Office.

We began our wedding shoot in Poole Old Town’s traditional pub, ‘The Angel” which is conveniently situated opposite the Guildhall. Here we met with Paul, his brother, who was Best Man and the Ushers to take some casual shots.

It was our first wedding shoot at the Guildhall and since we met with Helen and Paul a month before their big day to take a look at the venue, we were very impressed! Built in 1769, this Grade-2 listed building had stood empty for 16 years. Now restored it’s former glory, Poole Guildhall now boasts a large ceremony room that can hold up to 120 guests. Making it "one of the gems in Poole's heritage".

Helen arrived with the bridesmaids in a stretched Limousine; Helen appeared from the car dressed in a stylish pale pink wedding dress, holding a beautiful pink bouquet to match- her face was beaming! The Bridesmaids were dressed in a cool blue grey dresses, which complimented the Bride perfectly.

The ceremony was charming and the interior of the Guildhall was both light and elegant, which made for some beautiful shots.

After the ceremony, the guests gathered on the steps of the Guildhall for their group shot, before we all headed for the Quay, where our boat was awaiting. We joined the congregation for an around the harbour trip. We even took some shots up on deck and were pleasantly surprised by the temperature.

The Purbeck Princess made its way back to Poole Quay - the trip was complete. The Reception Venue was only a stones throw away, situated on the Quayside- The Custom House seemed the perfect spot for a cosy evening to celebrate. Inside the decor was stunning, with candles, lime green anthuriums, cut limes and bright pink gerbera daises. It was very cosy!

The couple were to spend their first evening as Husband and Wife in the newly refurbished ‘Hotel du Vin’, which again is walking distance from the Quay! The Hotel du Vin, Poole is a luxury Georgian town house situated in the old town. The hotel offers a bistro, a well-stocked bar, as well as a wine cellar and Bothy Lodge.
